In "corner kick", I write to support in this "sprint" towards the next finish line, the esteemed friend Doctor Iarrera Francesco, mayor of the laughing and welcoming Oliveri.

I have read true and sincere praise, praise and appreciation about the doctor and the politician Iarrera. Immense esteem for his immense human personality.

There is no one who doesn't know him, from Sicily to Italy and now thanks to your London prize the mayor is being known. Last but not least, the Italian national media just today mentioned the following:

" Genoa - 25 October 2023 - Mayor Francesco Iarrera, received the "Special Mention from the Jury - Urban Award, for sustainability projects, for his commitment to the creative use of his bike to collect abandoned waste."

Voting for this person is a certificate of esteem.

I write from welcoming Sicily. I learned from the local media of the presence in the list of candidates for this commendation of the Sicilian Mayor (municipality of Oliveri), Doctor Francesco Iarrera.

I'm really in love with Oliveri, it's a fantastic little village as are all its inhabitants. I really admire Doctor Iarrera as a person, he is a good professional in the field of nutrition. He has been fortunate enough to have been managing the Sicilian town since 2019. I really appreciate the mayors who preceded Iarrera, for better or for worse, they have always done a lot for the small municipality.

Iarrera was an unexpected mayor, revolutionary, dreamer, utopian. He has adapted to the technological era, becoming a figure to follow. A dynamic personality, with a sanguine temperament, for which he always loves to operate rather than speculate, aiming to obtain results that can satisfy his ambition, which instead should be kept in check so as not to tarnish his true ambition, that of working for the his city.

He may appear a bit narcissistic, since he is very fond of taking care of his physical image and is keen to keep his prestige high; but his level of commitment is genuine and the desire to make his city great is a true prerogative for Iarrera.

He focused on rapid and rapid communication, he did so during the pandemic period, to manage the emergency he tried to reach citizens through digital channels and to do so he proved to be a true digital communicator.
I
n a very short time, institutional communication was conveyed by social media: often from the mayor's private profile. The mayor is recognized, even more so now as an authoritative voice. The mayor's profile board suddenly became public and very popular.

His solidarity ideas such as the very famous solidarity building, Erasmus, twinning with Germany, inclusion and widespread welcome, closeness to the vulnerable, the continuous fight for urban decorum, his being active and sustainable by practicing himself plogging, the ordinances against fireworks, the proximity and synergistic collaboration with neighboring municipalities to deal with fires and floods, have made him an enviable mayor.

Being in this context does nothing but demonstrate that the human qualities of this mayor are his added value for being not a very good mayor but a small mayor who with tenacity and good will tries to fight every day for his small center. I encourage Sicily in this edition of the award and I encourage Mayor Iarrera.

Help in this uniquely symbolic competition is the mayor of Oliveri, Francesco Iarrera. The symbol of this recognition is right for him. Good person, friendly, helpful and fraternal.

A maxim states "power wears out those who don't have it." In the small Sicilian town of Oliveri, the opposite is the case: those in power have been worn out, with the exception of Mayor Iarrera, who has remained the same person as always. Power has not worn down his figure.
This competition, which sees him as the protagonist, is the right crowning of his human and professional qualities.

To his determination as a young and inexperienced Mayor. To his desire to demonstrate that even without political experience small goals can be achieved. To his desire as Mayor to focus on collaborative synergy, friendship, inclusion, welcoming diversity.

This race towards your personal recognition highlights his human and personal qualities. Many praises praise the substance of him, all very happy with him as a person and less happy with those who work alongside him.

I am happy that a Mayor like Iarrera is vying for this gratification. Gratification, which must make him satisfied with the humble and kind person he is.

Heartfelt congratulations to you, organizers of the global recognition and best wishes for success to all the competing mayors, who always remember in their administrative journey that all human beings, we are born for cooperation, like feet, hands, eyelids, teeth in rows above and below. Acting against each other is therefore against nature.

Commended by Simone, Sicily
A strange coincidence to find the Mayor of Oliveri, Francesco Iarrera, competing for this award. I would never have imagined finding Oliveri (Luveri in Sicilian) in this list, an Italian municipality of approximately 2,044 inhabitants. Community, unknown to most.

Astonished to find Mayor Iarrera there, he has turned into a media phenomenon. From the day of his election a real climb. In a very short time his image was emulated by many. He became a character for his extravagant ideas, solidarity building, direct involvement of citizens in public affairs. Example, virtuous until obtaining a national award. The Mayor of visibility. The Mayor everyone wants.

His enthusiasm and passion were overwhelming. Iarrera is the "good fortune" of his administrative team. Without him the others would not exist. This Mayor is a true phenomenon! For the purposes of the 2023 mention of this competition, the Mayor of Oliveri fits perfectly.

Oliveri is a welcoming, friendly, inclusive and collaborative community inside and outside its municipal territory.

The Mayor through his Facebook inculcates the practice of common sense, virtuosity, friendship, inclusiveness, hospitality, "reprimanding" his citizens in an ironic way and not the correct practice of good daily actions.

Through the use of his social channel he has become an emulative and friendly example of other mayors, Sicilian and Italian citizens. I favor Mayor Iarrera in this 2023 edition.

Commended by Ninetto, Sicily
One cannot help but support the mayor of Oliveri. Respectable person, trained professional.

Nobody is born a Mayor, you can only try to become one and since 2019 Iarrera has been trying to demonstrate to everyone that, through ups and downs, he can be a good mayor for his Oliveri.

He is a first citizen who respects diversity. He firmly believes in growing friendships between people. Friendship, as man's - incompressible - vocation to imagine and plan the future together. He demonstrates it every day with his mayor friends, with his fellow citizens, workers and municipal employees.

He proves it every day with all the foreigners that little Oliveri welcomes. He proves it with Breitnau, a German community twinned with Oliveri. He demonstrates this with his Facebook profile by telling stories and reaching people's hearts, becoming their friend and example to imitate. Becoming the Mayor everyone wants. This maxim of his, written in the time of Covid, describes him very well:

<<Despite the heavy sea of these days empty of meaning, we will start living again. With an extra friend, to remind us that to be happy you can be born alone but you have to live dispersed in a thousand hugs.>>
Humanity, generosity, kindness and reassurance.

The presence in this list as a sign of esteem, which concerns the friendship, collaboration, cooperation, presence, to improve and grow in synergy between peoples and communities, of Mayor Iarrera is very right.

Finding the Municipality of Oliveri and its Mayor Iarrera Francesco in the running for this recognition is very astonishing.

The Mayor has been administering Oliveri since 2019, he does not have many administrative skills, he aims for a sustainable, virtuous Oliveri. A small hamlet that becomes a real open museum hamlet.

It's not so much, in a small village you need services, Oliveri doesn't excel in services to the people sector. The Mayor is a noble person of soul. As many have written, it is the value of his administration.

In terms purely similar to your competition, he deserves to be among the 25, he represents the entire central theme of this edition: friendship at 360 degrees. He deserves to get first place overall.

Iarrera is a kind, solitary, unsmiling, far-sighted, studious mayor. He is a reassuring mayor, as he demonstrated during the pandemic period. He speaks very well. He writes very well.

It doesn't create problems. He is ready to help everyone. He perfectly embodies the merits of this award. Many have highlighted the achievements achieved by the Mayor from 2019 to today. Many have given ample space to the great humanity of this mayor. A person animated by a sense of humanity.

I hope that his humanity comes out totally in everyone's eyes. I encourage the Sicilian community in this opportunity which is your prize and I encourage Mayor Iarrera hoping that London and the whole world will have the opportunity to get to know a small village like Oliveri and a mayor like Iarrera. Good luck to all the Mayors competing.
